The public dialogue on criminal justice reform has primarily been through the lens of criminal justice professionals, academics, and politicians. What is missing from this important discussion is former offenders who in the past were caught up in the criminal justice system. The panel will feature former offenders who will discuss, in their own words, what needs to be reformed in the criminal justice system. Dr. Michael Birzer, a Professor of Criminal Justice at Wichita State University, will facilitate the panel discussion.
