Community Storytimes: My Name Is Truth

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Angelou Northeast
Meeting Room
Celebrate African-American History Month with stories about or written/illustrated by African Americans and read by local leaders and doers in our community. Whether we're teachers or community helpers...we're all storytellers. Jean Pouncil-Burton, a member of the Wichita Griots, a local storytelling group, will delight children with My Name is Truth: The Life of Sojourner Truth, an important leader of the abolitionist and women's rights movements during the Civil War period. Children and adults will work at creating their own powerful words. For ages 6-11.
