Community Storytime: The Story of Ruby Bridges

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Angelou Northeast
Meeting Room
Celebrate Black History Month with stories about or written/illustrated by African-Americans and read by local leaders and doers in our community.  Whether we're barbers or photographers or teachers...we're all storytellers.   Jean Pouncil-Burton, local storyteller, will share The Story of Ruby Bridges, the first African-American child to desegregate an all-white elementary school in Louisiana. Then children will create "kindness" rocks to keep or share with others.  For children ages 3 and up.
