6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Event Details

Cowboy poet Ron Wilson comes from the historic Lazy T Ranch near Manhattan, Kansas.  He appears regularly on television, radio and in the Grass & Grain newspaper. Ron scored in the top 5 at the National Cowboy Poetry Rodeo, won the Horizon Award from the Kansas Chapter of the Academy of Western Artists, and was proclaimed Poet Lariat (NOT Laureate) by the Governor of Kansas. He is the only cowboy poet in the history of this state to present a cowboy poem at a Governor’s inauguration. He presents all-original cowboy poetry in full costume, complete with audience participation. Ron says: “The poetry is fun, family-oriented, patriotic, relates well with people, and most of the time, it even rhymes.” His presentation will use verse to describe cowboy life along the historic Chisholm Trail which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2017.
