Dystopian fiction in the tradition of Station Eleven is in the midst of its golden era, enjoying widespread popularity, particularly among young adult readers. Two-time Bram Stoker award-winning author Sam Weller, the authorized biographer of Ray Bradbury (the genius behind the dystopian masterwork Fahrenheit 451), leads this fun and imaginative creative writing workshop, teaching the foundations of writing dystopian fiction. No creative writing experience is necessary to participate. Weller is a creative writing professor at Columbia College Chicago, and is a former keynote speaker for the Big Read Wichita. Registration is required; call 261-8500 or register online.
